myworld interview spot - Sam Roddick

Today we've been chatting with Sam Roddick, founder of Coco de Mer.

myworld: What are you up today?

SR: Creating a whole new range of delicious and ridiculously pleasurable products for Coco de Mer

myworld: Anything super hip you’re working on that you wouldn’t mind sharing with myworld?

SR: Working - researching the perfumed garden - the arabic kama sutra

myworld: If you were designing a hotel bedroom what would be amongst your top 3 prerequisites?

SR: Hotels for me need to be simple but the best of all the essentials: natural light , a window you can open - smelling clean but not antiseptic; the best bed and sheets / pillows and duvet; and details like scented candle
and bathroom accessories - like a good tooth brush and toothpaste / shampoo body wash... when hotels get it right lying on a clean hotel bed is like walking on freshly fallen snow.

myworld: Our design philosophy takes into account the 5 senses – of all of them, which is your favourite and why?

SR: Oh my God! I am a dionysian it is impossible to separate the pleasure of them.
